I and my brother aged 59 and 82 years respectively are participating in social activities for empowering girl childrens in education field as also helping the needy senior citizens in health and eye care through “Heritage Homes” and “Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital”. My brother won prizes and rewards from CM, State Govt. of AP, Social Welfare Department and Heritage Homes for his selfless services. We have planned to help needy people under Pragathi Trust which is now unregistered since last 4/5 years. Now we want to register the same. Please gide us How to register whether under Societies Act or Trust Act also give the method how the doners get tax bebefit under 80G of IT Act 1961. I am working in NABARD as AGM and I am retiring on 30 April 2011 after which I will take charge of the Trust as my brother cannot carryon the work as he had recently under gone by pass surgery/operation on Heart blocks. He is recovering but doctors had resticted him from claimbing stair case. I also served the rural poor while I was District Development Manager in Cuddalore District< Tamil Nadu by promoting SHGs and Farmar's clubs in Cuddalore District during 2000-01 tp 2003-04.
