About us
Without education millions of Indians are leading a life in darkness without making any worthwhile contribution towards national progress. With the noble Idea of lighting the life of future generations by providing basic elementary education to the children of poor people, Sh Naresh Lamba , the founder president and members established SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT WELFARE SOCIETY – a non – govt registered NGO- in August 2007. It has come a long way since its humble beginning with “siksha jagrukta “ campaign under which children and poor people of villages and small colonies were encouraged to get free education provided by the SDWS. Today large number of poor people and their children are benefitting from various programs run by SDWS which are aimed at spreading awareness and education amongst masses. The SDWS is getting financial assistance only from its members.

What we Do
SDWS is constantly making endeavors to help poor sections of society to become able citizens so that they could contribute towards the national progress.
The main aim of NGO is to give primary education to the students of poor people and to help them study, make them aware about their health and to help in becoming responsible citizens of the nation.

Aim of SDWS
The Aim of SDWS is to help the poor and under privileged sections of society, provide social security, development of the area, contribute towards National progress and to spread awareness and get the backward sections of the society their rights and privileges by helping them raising their standard of living. For achieving this Aim the NGO is helping the poor children in acquiring education, making them aware about health, hygiene and their rights and duties so that they are brought to the main stream of the society.

ANK is a Non Govt. and non profit making organization (NGO) based in Delhi, India.

ANK is a Hindi word which means “Digit” in English. The journey of ANK as a registered NGO started in 2004. ANK was established to provide education to the underprivileged children living in the urban slums of Delhi. The thought process behind ANK is that quality education is the only vehicle that can improve the living standards of the poor people. It is the only tool which can equip them to make informed and intelligent choices about their lives and future.ANK believes that it is the only weapon to fight poverty and truly empower the children who tomorrow will be the face of India. ANK seeks to achieve a better tomorrow through the medium of education and unleash the power of knowledge that is inaccessible to millions.

Since its establishment as a NGO in Delhi, ANK has grown both in scope and geographical coverage. More than 3,000 children have been benefitted from our learning program for the out of school children. Through our health programs we have touched life of more than 10000 underprivileged families. Our endeavor has been to increase the access of ICT (Information and Communication Technology) among the underprivileged children and youth.

ANK is among one of few NGO’s in the country who is delivering high end multimedia and animation training for underprivileged youth through its “Anizoom” initiative.

In 2007 ANK was ranked as one of the best NGO working in Delhi on “Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan” by UEE Mission, Directorate of Education, Govt. of NCT of Delhi.

The core team of ANK works with passion and commitment to ensure success of each project undertaken. We at ANK ensure that through our projects we reach to the unreached. ANK has a dedicated team of Teachers, Trainers, and Health Professionals. ANK has a very good network of volunteers.

ANK’s mission is to empower economically backward children through knowledge, health care, education, vocational training and commitment.
