Changemakers.net has launched another competition called the “Cultivating Innovation: Solutions for Rural Communities” with the sponsorship of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The competition is open to NGOs and other agencies from all countries. The competition aims to gather innovative solutions for improving the quality of life in rural and farming communities.
Entries need to be submitted by interested organizations covering the theme of rural community development and agriculture. Entries need to demonstrate not just the concept but also the stage of implementation or at least the initial research part of it. It is an online competition and entries need to be submitted online before 13 May 2009. The three finalists will be selected through an online voting process and the winners are eligible to receive cash prizes of US $5,000.
