    OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME
India is now a developing country. Day to day mentality and living status of the people are increasing. Tailoring, Beauty Parlour, Hand-Embroidery, Computer Training are basic needs of these days. Dress materials. Marketing of this type of items of goods are basically on large scale Industries as per requirements and development of localities as well as Delhi State. This training programme is very needful and justified. After completion of training there are good opportunities for employment, self employment. These vocational training’s can change the life status of destitute needy families. Looking to this side, these training programmes are highly justified.
    Exploitation
From the time of memorial the valuable destitute community is persecuted, suppressed, isolated and exploited by high caste society. The poor became poorer, so that the total results seem that there is no way of subsistence of distressed community, starvation and fasts are caused. Meanwhile they don’t get even two or three square meals in a week. In this way they are frustrated. The basic amenities including the health infrastructure are poor so they are seen under nourishment; they suffer the common dire health problems belonging to the destitute community. The destitute parents with their meager income are not cables to provide balanced diet to their children. This is resulting in under nourishment, night blindness cataract etc. These are the health problems in the children. Due to isolation of these areas from the development infrastructure the destitute are not able to make use of quality goods. Hence they are being neglected and sometimes they are being socially isolated and psychologically suppressed by the High Community itself. Unlike normal people do not have any special programmes either in the villages or in the agency areas.
It is also said that there is no attempt by the Govt. or Development Agencies to launch any short term special programme for the illiterate student and Vocational, Tailoring, Beauty Parlor, Hand Embroidery training programmes etc.

  10. TK Shanbhag says:

    Dear Sirs,
Shanthidhama Trust was founded in 2000 with an objective of providing free food, free education and free health/medicines as per Indian traditions to the poor and needy people.

Promoted a free informal school in 2000 on experimental basis under Gurukula system of education in a village called Koteshwara, Udupi Dist. Karnataka State in India for the children between the age group of 5 and 9. (1st standard to 4th standard). The same was run in a small site of 0.11 acre.

In 2010, the Trust with an intention to expand the project upto 7th standard, acquired a land of 4.00 acres and worked out a project with full amenities to setup the school such as building, infrastructures, play ground, garden, farm, teaching materials etc. the cost of which was estimated at Rs. 3.00 crores.

The project is aimed at imparting value based moral education, physical, emotional and spiritual education to transform the child into a perfect genius personality.

Apart from capital cost, the project also requires a revenue and recurring cost of about Rs. 5000 per day. Estimated cost per student is Rs.15000/- per annum, cost per teacher is Rs. 6000/- per month, etc.

The project is already started and about Rs. 45.00 lacs was incurred for the 1st phase of the project. The 2nd phase of working is going on.

The Trust anticipates generous contributions from donors, both individuals and organisations to run the unique project successfully.

    With regards,

    TK Shanbhag
