    Dear Sirs,
Shanthidhama Trust was founded in 2000 with an objective of providing free food, free education and free health/medicines as per Indian traditions to the poor and needy people.
Promoted a free informal school in 2000 on experimental basis under Gurukula system of education in a village called Koteshwara, Udupi Dist. Karnataka State in India for the children between the age group of 5 and 9. (1st standard to 4th standard). The same was run in a small site of 0.11 acre.
In 2010, the Trust with an intention to expand the project upto 7th standard, acquired a land of 4.00 acres and worked out a project with full amenities to setup the school such as building, infrastructures, play ground, garden, farm, teaching materials etc. the cost of which was estimated at Rs. 3.00 crores.
The project is aimed at imparting value based moral education, physical, emotional and spiritual education to transform the child into a perfect genius personality.
Apart from capital cost, the project also requires a revenue and recurring cost of about Rs. 5000 per day. Estimated cost per student is Rs.15000/- per annum, cost per teacher is Rs. 6000/- per month, etc.
The project is already started and about Rs. 45.00 lacs was incurred for the 1st phase of the project. The 2nd phase of working is going on.
The Trust anticipates generous contributions from donors, both individuals and organisations to run the unique project successfully.
    With regards,
    TK Shanbhag
