The United States Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration, Department of State has issued the FY 2009 PRM Funding Opportunity Announcement for NGO Programs. The opportunity is for NGOs working in Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya and Yemen. NGOs need to demonstrate that they are working with at least 50% of populations who are refugees. Other general activities can include protection, health, water, sanitation, shelter, education, community services, psychosocial support, gender based violence, and livelihoods development and training. Preference is given to NGOs that have a working relationship with the UNHCR, implemented refugee assistance programs, have concrete implementation plan and appropriate targeting of beneficiaries.

Proposals have to be submitted through  http://grants.gov for which prior registration is required. Registration at http://grants.gov takes 2-3 weeks after which proposals can be submitted online.
