  1. P.Devadanam says:

    WHAT IS ADHARANA?

The “Action for Development of Human and Rural Neglected Areas”( ADHARANA) is an Indian Non-Governmental organisation that works to improve the status of DALITHS ( vulnerable sections ) formerly known as “untouchable”. In this group, the focus is particularly on women, children, youth, disabled and aged.

The “Action for Development of Human and Rural Neglected Areas”( ADHARANA) strives to abolish the causes of poverty such as caste discrimination, racism, uncontrolled capitalism, neo-colonisation and religious fundamentalism rather than symptoms of poverty. It is providing alternative to the people, in terms of education, income activities, farming and social activities. We strive to:
Uphold women’s rights and help them gain self-confidence.
    Solve women’s problems.
improve earning opportunities and bargaining capacity.
    Encourage involvement in village development.
    Develop leadership qualities.
    Prevent violence against women.
Support widows and single women and abandoned mothers.
We are striving our best for a little change in the lives of downtrodden women.
