In order to preserve and enhance greenery in Madhya Pradesh, a local Non Government Organisation (NGO) was campaigning in this direction by distributing plants/seeds to common people since five years.
NGO Shrinath Seva Society would launch this year’s campaign from next month. NGO Secretary Shrikant Joshi said today that they were inspiring people and were distributing seeds and plants to them in Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Sagar and Rewa.
With an aim to plant more trees and contribute in enhancing greenery
in the state besides maintaining a balance in ecosystem, the NGO launch the campaign, he said. A ‘Prakrati Mitra Banao Karyakram’ (Make Nature as Friend
Programme) would be launched in the first week of June.
Under this, a citizen would be registered as Nature’s Friend and seeds and plants will be provided to him. In this month, members of this society meet people on each Sunday and other holidays at railway stations, bus stands, markets and also at religious places to provide seeds and plants to them.
The members also appealed them to scatter these seeds packets in valleys during journey so that they can germinate in rains. This endeavor would continue till September, he added.
