SATNAM SEWA ASHRAM(PROFILE)

The Satnam Sewa Ashram started by a group of social workers of Himachal Pradesh in the year of 1982.It is registered under the Govt.of India Societes Act of xxi,1860 at Shimla as a charitable Society.

Its office is situated at Village Seri,Tehsil and P.O.Jogindernagar.Distt.Mandi.It is about 255 K.M. from Chandigarh and on the road of Mandi- Pathankot,57 K.M. away from Mandi.

The Ashram began with the small contribution from the social workers of Himachal Pradesh.The small room given by a social worker.The members of the society are in their own business,and few retired person from their service , Mahila mandals,elderly groups and youth mandals.they give their voluntary service and working among poorest of poor,orphans,illiterates,distressed and downtrodden people of all backgrounds.

By the good efforts,the Ashram is recognized,by local people and local Govt. authorities who co-operated the Ashram in various activities(copy of the letter from DC Mandi attached),and ultimately it got registered under Foreign Contribution Regulation Act(FCRA).And able to receive the Foreign fund for the socio-economical Development and for the health related services, from various international agencies such as Sweden(SIDA),SAP,Canada,Indo Geman Social Service Society(IGSSS),Help Age UK, and CASA so on….

AND By the good contribution and co-operation of the members of the Ashram and Foreign agencies,the Ashram is registered with INCOMETAX DEPARTMENT for tax exemption(12a)AND 80 G approved for three years up to 31-03-2013.

Mr.O.P.Bhatia is a director with the SATNAM SEWA ASHRAM,he is given full time to the service.

The objectives of the Ashram are to provide food,clothes,education(awareness) of all kind and technical training to weaker section of all background,and chronic patients and to their children and to make them to self-reliant.
The area of the work is IN ALMOST HIMACHAL PRADESH BUT PRESENTLY IN three district of Himachal pradesh,Mandi,Kullu and Kangra.

At present we are involved in health related awarness,social awareness,legal awarness,environment awareness and awareness of elderly people.

And also The Satnam Sewa Ashram is involved in various activities such as income generation programmes,organizing through vocational training centers,health checkup and awareness programmes,awareness camps about increase agriculture production,providing marketing development and assistance for the produces by weaker section of the target areas.

SATNAM SEWA ASHRAM a Non Government organization in Distt.Mandi has indentified problems execlusively from the target population based on servey of various Mandals.

SATNAM SEWA ASHRAM has involved project proposal after diligent consideration of priorties of beneficiaries and optimum utilization of available resources.Proposal are mainly intended in achieving sustainable development even after long expiry of project period.

SATNAM SEWA ASHRAM envisages to achieve this by creating an awareness in the target population by way increasing litracy rate training in skill health care.Promoting the beneficiaries in discussion making and actively involved in community based development programme.

BASED on the past exeperience of SATNAM SEWA ASHRAM ,in the field of Health,the concrete measures projected in this project proposal for funding through time bound strategies deserve consideration.
