SHREE CHAKRAPANI FINE ARTS AND EDUCATIONAL TRUST,P.B.NO.132,DECCAN POINT,N.G.ROAD.ATTAVAR,MANGALORE-575001

Drawing is recognized as one of the most ancient form of fine arts. There are documentary evidences which clearly say that humans were resorting to drawing pictures to express their feelings even before they learnt to speak. It is also accepted that drawing is the basic foundation for all forms of education. So, it is absolutely essential that a study of such an art is made through a scientific and systematic mode. It is true that such modes are available for aspiring students in Urban areas, but unfortunately, Rural people especially children have been denied of this opportunity.
Mangalore, a port town in Karnataka is well known for its natural scenic splendor as well as for its rich cultural heritage. Rapid industrialization in modern times has not dampened the spirit and hunger of people here for fine art forms like Music, Dance, Yakshagana, Drawing, Painting etc. All forms of fine arts have been flourishing here since times immemorial. There are a few dedicated stalwarts in each field who have been contributing there best to popularizes and keep alive each art form.

Mr. Suresh who hailed from a Rural background knew fully well the difficulties faced by Rural students to pursue their education, especially in fine art forms. Rural children who were interested in any fine art form had no chance at all to take up its study, due to lack of facilities. Mr. Suresh was a realist. He knew, it was easy enough to cherish a dream but to realize it one needed to be single minded and dedicated in its pursuance. He decided to be both and started to put forth all his energies and resources in earnest to achieve his goal. In due course of time, he was able to gather a like- minded enthusiast who also hailed from Rural background and who were sympathetic to his views. All of them joined hands with one desire in their hearts and thus came into being “Shree Chakrapani School of Art” at Attavara, Mangalore on 27-11-2003. It was decided to conduct evening classes in drawing and painting at the classroom of Government Higher Primary School. With the whole hearted approval of the headmaster and eminent persons of the locality. In the beginning, Mr. Suresh himself used to conduct evening classes after finishing his professional duties at Sharada Vidyala. However, in due course of time, with the development of the institution in view,
He appointed full time teachers to carry on the work. After 3 successful years since its inception, Mr. Suresh got the institution registered with Government of Karnataka under the name “Shree Chakrapani Fine Arts And Educational Trust”, for the sake of administrative convenience. The trust has Mr. Suresh Pandavarakallu as its president and Mr. Madhav Suvarna, Mr. B. Sathyanarayana, Mr. Taranath K , Vinitha B., Thaniyappa Poojary and Kusuma as the Trustees.
