Ethos of the Agency

The organization Shikhar Yuva Manch (SYM) was initiated in the year 1997 has a response to address local governance and charity issues. The members of the
SYM were members of a youth group, which later got converted into a society with focus on development and disability issues. The members of the society are all young and committed to the cause of empowering the rginalised and seeking RIGHTS of the people. The membership of the society has 2 women
members and also from minority.

Creation of equal, equitable, self-reliant, progressive and non-violent society.

Mission

Work for the most exploited, excluded, disadvantaged, Victimized and marginalized poor people.

Goal

• To empower and uplift the poor, vulnerable and most marginalized section of the society.

Objectives

• To under the different kinds of programs and conduct the activities that help for empowering and uplifting of an excluded, disadvantaged, poor and marginalized people including women, child labour, Tribal and Dalit.
• To enhance awareness of human rights and democracy.
• To develop the advocacy skill and capacity of local civil society’s groups for good governance.
• To carry out the activities of rehabilitation for the person with disabilities.
• To engage in conflict management and peace building process.
• To make efforts for maximum representation and active participation of women.
• To run supportive programs for protection of environment and biodiversity.

Strategy

Shikhar Yuva Manch (SYM) Believe in people’s power and their action for sustainable development. Thus, we play the role of facilitator using, withdrawal approach of empowerment. In this we promote the alternate people’s mechanism at grassroots level, especially through Gram Panchayat & people institution.
